World Mitochondrial Disease Week 2024

World Mitochondrial Disease Week (WMDW) is back
between Monday 16 – Sunday 22 September 2024

The week from Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd September 2024, E-mit raises awareness for World Mitochondrial Disease Week.
The E-Mit Society is a proud supporter of all the efforts, initiatives, and research to raise awareness of mitochondrial disease and find a cure.

Mitochondrial diseases are caused by dysfunctional mitochondria, which power our cells. These rare diseases affect thousands of people worldwide, affecting their energy and leading to severe health issues.

This week, E-mit wants to highlight the challenges of living with mitochondrial disease, honor the strength of those who live with it, and call for faster research into better treatments and cures. We need to raise awareness. It helps fund research, change policy, and make medical advances that improve quality of life.

E-mit invites communities, healthcare professionals, and advocates to participate in events like webinars, fundraising, and lighting monuments green to show support. Together, we can bring hope, foster compassion, and find solutions to these life-altering conditions.

Join us this World Mitochondrial Disease Week to spread awareness, promote understanding, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected!
